Eric Bradner of CNN has written:  " 'It is a moral obligation -- history will not forgive them,' [Khizr] Khan said of Ryan and McConnell on CNN's "State of the Union. 'This election will pass, but history will be written. The lack of moral courage will remain a burden on their souls.'
"He told CNN's Jim Acosta those GOP leaders have a 'moral, ethical obligation to not worry about the votes but repudiate him; withdraw the support. If they do not, I will continue to speak.' "

Thus spake Khizr Khan to CNN in commenting about Donald Trump's comments and the reluctance of GOP leaders to repudiate their candidate for the U.S. presidency.  And Khizr's wife Ghazala is finding her voice as well.  Their son, Capt. Humayun Khan, died in Iraq saving the rest of the men in his squad from a suicide bomber.
    This could be interesting.

  • Interesting is not the word I'd have chosen - sad that there is such cowardice among the elected...

  • @murisopsis: You're right, of course. "Interesting" is one of my favorite understatement words, along the lines of "Overconfidence may yet cost the Dodgers sixth place."

But back to "interesting." We tournament Scrabble players like to get full value of those two "blank" tiles, that can be used to represent any letter. They're worth at least 40 points or so, so shouldn't be used unless they help produce a score 40 points or so more than an average score for any one play. I was playing a consultation game once, and when I found a use for a blank that gained only 30 points, it was still a good usage, because it enabled us to get rid of a u-less Q, which is like an albatross, a huge handicap to be stuck with. I pointed the play out to my partner. It was hard to see, because it fit into a tight place on a crowded board. He said, "That's interesting." I said, "It's more than interesting." He said, "It's indicated." I laughed.

  • Scrabble is a great game. I sometimes play online but generally the random opponents are either little kids or someone playing with a bot/cheat. Indicated is interesting~
