  • What happened to Google Chrome?

I guess I have to call the computer doctor again.  Turned on the 'puter this morning, clicked on Google Chrome and Google came up instead of this page.  Then there was some message saying that Norton added some shit and I said don't add and now the Chrome icon is still there but nothing happens.

At least good old Internet Explorer is still here.

  • Yep. Every time Chrome updates I have issues. I too have Internet explorer as a back up. I couldn't load my geocaches using chrome but internet explorer was perfect.

  • @murisopsis: As it happens, the next time I turned on the computer a Chrome restore option popped up and all is well again.

  • I tend to use Internet explorer for somethings on the Internet and Google for other things when I am using the Internet.

  • That's a relief!

  • I use the chrome only when I am on IE, and have to research something else. Then I go to chrome. I am not having any problem with it... at least not yet!

  • Aw, darn Chrome!
    (Excuse my language! ;-) )
    Hope it's fixed by now!
    HUGS!!! :-) Happy Thursday!!! :-)

  • Yeah Bob, hope the chrome is fixed by now. Thank you for the email about the movie with Newman.

  • I use Firefox mostly and it's always trying to do some lame "update" and I always say NO! But sometimes it will update by itself. Sometimes it doesn't matter, sometimes it does. My son showed me how to check the "add-ons", found under the three horizontal bars in the upper right corner on this browser, not sure about others - but you can see what has snuck in and disable and/or remove - have to restart but really just takes a minute. Had to do it this morning. I don't know why these things come, I have adblock. Also you can go back to a set point in system restore - except I can't, something wrong with my laptop. But I have done it in the past, a good way to get rid of something awful. I hope you figured out what works for you - yes always have a spare browser, and "ask google", there's always someone out there who knows something, it's nice being able to tap in to the Gigantic Brain.
