Just To Let Everyone Know
I called the foot doc when I got to work Monday, and they got me in that very day, and Foot Doc shot some painkiller into my toe to numb the thing, then had the dead toenail off before I could blink.
I'll be fine.

Hey, Bob, sorry to learn about your sore toe, but glad you got to see a foot doc. that they got you in promptly, had painkiller and got and rid of the dead toenail. I used to work in a podiatry office & have witnessed many of those procedures. Now, I have to see a doc, but 1st it needs to be my PC doc. I fell and injured my left foot late yesterday afternoon. It hurt so bad couldn't put any weight on it. I've been using ice pack on it on & off and that has helped some, but still hobbling today. Called my PC doc's office after it opened this AM, but he is off on vacation. His M.A. is supposed to be finding someone else in the assoc. who can work me in, but so far I have not heard from her. There is a podiatry office right down the street from my PC doc, but they'd have to be in my network & would need referral to go there. All this will cause me to cancel the flight to MD early Thurs. AM to be with my older daughter and my grandchildren. I checked on it and I still have time to cancel if I do before Weds. eve. Anyway, I'm glad you're taken care of & I believe you'll be fine, too. ~~Blessings 'n Cheers
Thanks for the info. on Xanga date extension. I'll make use of it when I can. Just got back from getting my L. foot x-rayed. Got appointment with my PC doc's associate tomorrow afternoon. Couldn't get appointment with the Podiatry Assoc. office until Monday. Couldn't wait until then. I also cancelled the flight to MD.
Oh good! Praying for your toe to heal! I can't remember...did you say...???...which "little piggie" is it?!HUGS!!!
@adamswomanback - I wrote a long reply that got erased. Short answer: big toe on the left.
Update: Left foot feels a little better, but my heel still hurts when I walk, even with the boot on. X-ray revealed foot was full of fluid, but no break! Swelling is less today. Prayers for your healing, too. Big toe is an important digit for ones foot. (I used to work in a podiatry office many years ago.) ~~Blessings 'n Cheers
Hey Bob!!! I didn't even know that was your name! This is Bud Harrington, author of the dubious Daily News, or ~H~ of the DN! First off, hope your toe is well. I keep going to the hospital for all sorts of nonsense myself, so I can totally relate. I wanted to get back to you before the Xanga deadline of July 15, am aware of the "extension", but I bailed and made a new one on gmail. I just wrote you a long comment, feared too many characters, but went ahead and took the risk anyway! Here it is, with the link to my new site:I thank you for that comment, because it forced me to research Xanga's plight, and I don't like what I see! I asked Xanga to get all my archives to Word Press and am awaiting reply, albeit not holding my breath. I did manage to create a new website for the DN using Gmail's blogger. Ironically, I already HAVE a gmail account that I use to sent the DN off to various former teachers and alumni. I used to use aol, but they stopped sending emails of over 50 recipients. After looking through several other "bloggin" services, I found that the gmail one was the only one not trying to charge me for all sorts of fancy options. I like it because of its simplicity, and because it is able to allow the same flavor as the good ol' Daily News. I did a couple of samples just to experiment, but not many know about it. It's like I'm building a metaphorical house this summer, and the grand opening will be around August 13, after I have hit Tahoe for a few weeks. So you get a special preview of how it will be, since you warned me to bail, and I saw the storm and bailed! Thanks; I don't recall if I had the time to answer you b/c I got pretty busy pretty fast this summer. AnywayZ, here's the link:http://thedailynews-h.blogspot.com/Let me know if it works. You can reach me at gfharrington@aol.com, but identify yourself so I know you aren't spam!~H~
